Duties

Forecasts, identifies and submits orders for subsistence to the Rations Warehouse using a military computer. Confirms subsistence orders are received by the Rations Warehouse and coordinates date and time for pick-up of subsistence from the Rations Warehouse for delivery to the dining facility. Drives a refrigerated truck from the dining facility to the Rations Warehouse, loads subsistence at the Rations Warehouse on a refrigerated truck using a forklift, and then drives the refrigerated truck to the dining facility and unloads subsistence into the proper storage areas/containers. Drives a refrigerated truck to the main gate to pick up ration deliveries and returns to the Rations Warehouse and unloads the subsistence. Secures and controls subsistence until issued to the production manager on shift. Keeps all storage areas secured and issues out items to the kitchen to ensure security and accountability of subsistence items in the storeroom. Performs physical checks of subsistence storage areas to confirm temperatures are within specified food safety standards as required by food service leadership. Weighs and counts all food received, thawed, issued, or returned to the storeroom. Post vendor item use by dates and subsistence thaw dates. Recommends to dining facility management when assistance is required from the Military Public Health inspector when necessary. Completes AF Form 3S 16 for transfers of subsistence both into and out of the dining facility and/or rations warehouse. Conducts inventories of subsistence as required by food service leadership. Prints and provides Production Logs and menus to dining facility management. Manages the Meal Request Program to include collecting and providing ground meal, flight meal and special meal program requests to dining facility management. Delivers subsistence, supplies and personnel to the appropriate work areas as required. This may include coordinating reception of subsistence, supplies and personnel at the installation controlled access points, pick-up (loading) and delivery to Expeditionary Force Support Squadron activities or to activities for which the Expeditionary Force Support Squadron provides that service. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Must be able to work independently and plan work in order to achieve maximum accomplishment of assigned duties. Must have the ability to complete a variety of reports and track requirements and completions. Typing skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language; i.e., read, write, and speak. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) / Tier 1 investigation. Progressively responsible experience in food service storeroom or supply work which provided knowledge of rules, procedures, and program requirements. Knowledge of subsistence inventory and accountability procedures and regulations desired. Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate the ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve problems and/or deviations from normal management procedures or program requirements. Must possess or be able to obtain a qualifying food handlers certification. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Must have experience driving refrigerated trucks and forklifts ranging from IK to 6K. Must have, or be able to obtain, a forklift license. Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

Education
